New painting based on staffordshire.

Start of painting.  Using colours inspired by canal barges.

Here is my new painting i've started.  Its still a bit rough at the moment but have got all the motifs I want to use.  I am thinking of using a crackle glaze over the top of the finished piece to make it look antique.  The plate above shows a canal barge plate which inspired me to make the painting. I wanted to use motifs which are specific to the staffordshire area e.g. shire horses, brasses, staffordshire pottery and staffies.When finished this will be 3ft across and have taken 150 hours to make.
